This page explains, in plain language, what this website does with your information. It describes how the site works today. It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer.
The short version
- We only collect what you send us through the trip planner, the contact form or the review form.
- We use it to reply to you, plan your journey and, after your trip, ask how it went. We never sell it or use it for advertising.
- Reviews are published only with your agreement and after we have read them.
- This website sets no advertising or tracking cookies, so there is no cookie banner.
- You can ask us at any time to see or delete what we hold about you, or to remove your review.
What we collect
When you send the trip planner: your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number (optional), country (optional), preferred way to be contacted, and your trip answers: group type, number of adults and children, dates, interests, accommodation preference, any journey, places or wildlife you chose, and your notes.
When you send the contact form: your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number (optional), country (optional), preferred way to be contacted and your message.
We also record the date and time you sent it and whether our emails to you and to us were delivered.
After your journey: when we mark your trip as completed, we record its last day. Two days later we send you one thank-you email with a personal link to leave a review. We send it only once, and you don't have to reply.
When you leave a review: your star rating, your review, the name you want shown, your country (optional), your agreement that we may publish it, and the date. The personal link works only once.
While you fill in the trip planner, your answers are saved in your own browser, on your own device, so that a refresh does not lose them. They are not sent anywhere until you press Send, and they are cleared after sending. Clearing your browser data also removes them.
How we use it
- To read your request and reply to you, by email or WhatsApp, as you prefer.
- To prepare a proposed plan and price. A request is not a booking.
- To keep a record of our conversation while we plan your journey.
- After your trip, to send you the one thank-you email asking for a review.
Reviews
- We publish a review only if you agreed to publication on the review form, and only after we have read and approved it.
- We show only the name and country you gave with your review, never your email address.
- We may decide not to publish a review, but we never change its words.
- You can ask us at any time to remove your review from the website, or to change the name shown with it. Write to the email address on the Contact page and we will do it as soon as we can.
- If you also review us on Google or TripAdvisor, that review is handled under their own privacy policies.
Who handles it for us
- Cloudflare hosts this website, receives the forms when you press Send, checks that they were sent by a person and not a program (Cloudflare Turnstile), and sends our emails.
- Google Firebase stores your request and your review in our database (Cloud Firestore).
- Cloudflare R2 stores the website's photographs and videos. It does not receive your personal information.
- WhatsApp handles any WhatsApp messages you choose to send us, under its own privacy policy.
These services only process your information to provide their service to us.
Website statistics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It does not use cookies, does not store anything on your device and does not follow you across other websites. It shows us totals, not individual people.
How long we keep it
We keep a request for up to 24 months after our last contact with you, so that we can answer questions about your journey. After that we delete it. You can ask us to delete it sooner.
A published review stays on the website until you ask us to remove it. A review we decide not to publish is deleted. An unused review link stops working after 90 days.
Your choices
You can ask us to:
- tell you what we hold about you and send you a copy,
- correct anything that is wrong,
- delete your information,
- remove your review from the website, or change the name shown with it.
Send your request to the email address on the Contact page. We will reply as soon as we can. If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes
If we change how the website uses your information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
